Middleton Grange pupils achieved some excellent Athletic results at the end of 2015
NZSS (Nationals) Athletics Championships in Timaru 4 – 6 December:
- William Stedman was once again our standout performer in the Para Olympic division, winning four Gold Medals (Long Jump, 100m, 200m, 400m) and one Silver Medal (Shot Put). Fresh from returning from the World Champs in Doha, Qatar, William was in great form.
- Gloria Agnew, in her first year in this competition, won the Bronze Medal in the Junior Girls’ Long Jump. She also made the final in the 100m sprint, where she came 4th equal. This is a wonderful achievement, especially as Gloria still has another year in this age group.
Gloria also did extremely well at the South Island Colgate Games in Nelson where, along with earning 5 medals, she was one of four athletes awarded the prestigious Nick Willis Scholarship. Her medals were gold 100m sprint; gold 4x100m relay; silver 200m sprint; silver long jump and silver in the mixed distance medley.
Despite the heat, Middleton Year 7 & 8 pupils performed well at the Canterbury Primary Schools Athletics Championships on Wednesday 2 December
