Hi, we are Jono and Annalise (Thoroughgood) Smit and were students at MGS in the class of 2007. We are now living in northern Iraq, with the Kurdish people. We’re here with a Christian NGO providing medical care and photography work, with the goal of sharing the gospel. We felt God call us to the Middle East three years ago when we went on a short-term mission to a conflict zone in the middle east region. We fell in love with the people and felt we wanted to give a longer period of our life to this place. We carry a heart for the people here and believe God wants to show them His love for them. The Kurdish people are predominantly Muslim and are the largest people group in the world without a homeland. We feel very privileged to be able to serve on this side of the world. Thank you to those who have been praying for us. If you feel you want to support us, check out our website.
