Korfball Canterbury Year 7 & 8 Tournament
3 July 2017, Pioneer Stadium
With 18 teams taking part, from ten different schools, this was our biggest schools’ tournament so far. Middleton Grange took two Year 8 teams. Grace Neilson and Folau Havea were nominated players of the tournament alongside 6 other players chosen from the whole tournament.
We ended up placing 3rd out of the 18 teams, winning every game except the semi final playoffs which went to extra time and then penalty shoot outs. We scored the most number of goals in the tournament and had the fewest goals scored against us!
Four of the Middleton team players (Levi Ferguson, Folau Havea, Grace Neilson, Jairus Montenegro) have been chosen for the Canterbury Junior Korfball Squad and will play in the South Island Secondary Schools’ Korfball Tournament on 16-17 September.
